What do we offer through our role as an Accredited Mediator?

Mark Pearce can offer over 30 years of experience and extensive knowledge from his postion as a Chartered Surveyor, and brings that to the role of being an Accredited Mediator, in helping disputing parties with the alternative dispute resolution.

Mark underwent the RICS Accredited Mediator training in 2023, and is registered for this role through RICS and CIArb, with membership of both. RICS is the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors; and CIArb is the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

In theory the principles of mediation can be applied to any topic or issue, but to assist with Evaluative Mediation means that some professional and possibly expert knowledge is needed by the Mediator of the subject matter in dispute.  This is why Mark offers Mediation services for Boundary Disputes and Building Work Disputes.  Options are also available for Mediation around Housing Disrepair, although this area is really overlooked, and yet to be grasped as an alternative dispute resolution for most Dispute and Case Management by the party's advisers.

Coming Soon: Mediation will also be extended to matters within the scope of
the Party Wall etc Act 1996.

Chartered Surveyor

I needed some plans drawn up for submission to Land Registry for the potential sale of some of my land to a neighbour. [Smart Surveyor] supplied these (without requiring a site visit) in just over two weeks after I sent my request. Very happy
