An emotional but rewarding experience

After spending the last 9 weeks volunteering in community projects in Tanzania, East Africa, Mark is now back to the office.

It was an emotional and amazing experience with such a wide (and mostly unexpected) range of activities & adventures.

From developing Land Surveying methods with Maasai [tribe] hill farmers (in connection with combating soil erosion); to teaching Surveying techniques in senior school classes; teaching English to adults & children; distribution of trees & plant education in villages; child-care nursery for the sick & vulnerable.

Diagnosing settlement cracks in buildings and rescuing trapped cattle from a muddy ditch probably emphasises the two extremes of the diverse tasks involved with.
